There's your additional gas base, lol.
The original goal of the map was to be somewhat low in the base/resource count but I guess since that would disfavor zerg, having a geyser at every base is only fair to compensate.
Also I've realized that I'm basically completely incapable of not ripping off an SC2 map layout even when I don't try - now when I look at this map all I see is its resemblance to Daybreak. Maybe I just need to drop everything standard and go full asymmetrical, mineral-glitching, neutral-spamming retard mode... |

Hum, what about this ultra short nat2nat distance?
If I come to think of it, the 3rds are pretty easy to hold for, plus they kind of defend your main from getting dropped. If this was your goal then i didn't say a word but still its a very little risk for a high reward if you take the 3rds. |
