A tournament on my mind... page: 1 | ||
| Hi, I have an Tournament idea that's in my mind. Compared to all other tournament that uses standard maps or over-playd maps, I want to start a tournament that uses new, never realesd befor maps. The games that i had in mind are for example Quake 3, Warcraft 3, Counter Strick, Starcraft (well, starcraft tournaments uses new maps over time :/ ) etc... Now to the thing that might interest you guys is, I'm willing to pay money for the maps... ^^ This is still an idea that I have in my mind, but I'm very eager to start it. But it will take some time though, I got to get an better internet connection and a better computor. Still I need to learn how to host tournaments since I never have done such a thing. Hope that you guy's can give me some tips and advice, and please tell if you are interested about the idea. ;) Also, do you know other map making comunitys for other games such as, Q3, CS, Wc3? | Well to start. This tournament should be an invite - unless im mistaken, the prime idea seems to showcase new maps and to do that, you'll need to get top notch players to help the cause. Now in order to do that too u may need to have prize money for the top 3 players and thats another story - maybe have the event sponsered. im sure you could find a way to do that. Now when selecting maps, you should allow us to sort through them and then we could give you a filtered map list. I suggest we stay to 3 - 5 maps. In my opinion: Two (2)player maps, one (3)player map, and two (4)player maps. If we went with less, I say we at least have two (4)player maps. Now I'm not sure about anyone, but it does seem kinda wierd to sell maps to you. I'm sure any mapper here would be thrilled just to have a map played in a tournament so i dont think payment is necessary though pretty cool that you've offered. you can always contact me on my MSN messenger or email (which is the same email address) for help or anything: nasty_nastynick@yahoo.com | ||

| lol I would rather you took the money and put it towards a prize for the winner of a tournament to bring in good players. Our maps are free for use by anyone lol. | ||

| Well of course i have prise money for the top 3 player's. This is a professionall tornament that i had in mind. Well why I am willing to pay money for maps is to bring out good and professional maps, I dont want shitty maps. And therefor there's a demand on the map makers. Though if you want do do it freely, I would certanly be happy :). But the thing with the maps also is, the havent been shown to public befor. And if I would start the tournament I wont show the maps earlyest a week befor the tournament start. I dunno how hard it is to make new good maps for Broodwar these days.... | well at any rate, there are maps here that havent been showcased to the community that would really serve well in this tournament. And then there are a few maps that have been shown but really deserve some playing. Like (3)Moon Tear, for example which in my opinion, should definently be presented in your tournament. But if you definently want new maps then I'm sure we can squeeze maps for ya! | ||
