aaaahhhh
panschk, make this checkbox! it is no additional effort for us, and for regular guests it is ONE CLICK. but it screws every hotel-comic-porn script. so DO IT PLEASE.
ps: every person posting in this thread agrees totally and supports my idea.
yes of course. There is actually a hidden and automatic one for ppl logged in, but for the rest you need to have this extra click, otherwise it really would be useless.
to the dentist:
1) No I can not ;)
2) I can't neither. Only the last date of a post is recorded for raking purposes, so the order is fucked up then. Also noone really will invest time in deleting spam posts. We all have 3 jobs, 8 kids too feed and our 7 wives to please, so ain't possible-_- modified by panschk[FP]
it still doesn't work. is it possible that those spambots just "click" every link/button/checkbox because they can't "know" which is the send button?
panschk, could you test that? just make the checkbox for the guests ACTIVATED BY DEFAULT. if the spambots behave like this, they will just uncheck the box ;D
if there is no more spam than, it will be
Can't you just make it so that only registered members can post? Because then the bots can no longer spam because they're not members, but just guests who put their name in the "Your name" text field. Also, this eliminates random newbies coming in and spamming worthless stuff (if they had accounts made, then we can just own their accounts)
ehh that means our site wont be guest friendly nemore. which makes us unprofessional. though it is a sound idea.. im not that sure that its the most logical choice
well, registering here is fast and uncomplicated.
there is not such thing as emal registration or similar...and it would help with all problems to make it account-only
Hm... That checkbox thing seems to work at my dad's house (Internet Explorer), but when I used this site on my computer, via Firefox, the checkbox was no longer there.
