Heres one of my old maps I fixed up.
It was a bitch trying to balance 8 players on this and to give neutral expos.

The map plays really good, the idea was to make intensive map thats challenging from each starting pos, I tried to make it as balance as possible, its not perfect put its a fun map to play.

its good 8 player map for being compressed into a 128x128 size map. this one has position balance too.
the pos with up ramp takes 3 zealots to wall, the others take 2. this leads me to believe that choke is wider than the others.

very nice work on this.. though i wuld like to see more a natural design(s) in the middle.

older version of this had middle had buildible middle which made alot players protoss build alot cannons all over middle, and i didnt want that so i mixed in alot of rocky ground.

Its natural everything is randomly made in middle, i dont want to make symetrical design in middle like 1000s other maps.

nature doesnt make a star shape in middle of ground.

Wow, pretty 8 player map..
In all my life i can't find a good balance 8 players map 128x128 and for now this is the best out there that i've seen. Anyway you can move some of the naturals a little more close to the ramp to make zerg creep more close to the ramp. They are some locations where it's already fine, but they are some that are far from the ramp. Pleace fix this so i can play the map :) .

Ill see what I could do, It took alot of adjustment just to make all naturals fit, If i tincker with 1 i might have to move stuff around just to make gas fit.

ok Ive updated it, I also unlocked it so you can check it out in editor, or see new pic.

All naturals with hatchery the creep reaches the ramps i tested all of them, I didnt want to bring Naturals too close to ramps it will make small building area, its better then before.

Ill add this to MOTW, since this best 8 player map out there on 128X128 according to LGI, I trust his opinion.

Only, because i said it's the best out there doesn't mean it's perfect. You can see this by the spots of the five min only expands. Anyway good job overall.

No map is perfect, but this being 8 players not so bad, if i made it 192x128 coulve did better job with this, hard to find good spots for neutral minerals.
I like the GMCS, I think rather than explaining in words it is easier to understand what is being said with the GMCS. It is definantly easy to see what LGI is talking about and its an easy fix.

Okay, the bottom 3 bases are simply too close. There are a few spacing issues there. Maybe if you moved 11 and 5 further into the corners it would help out the spacing a bit. Also, I noticed that all of the bases have a min only expo in between them EXCEPT the bottom left 3 corner. The bottom left corner is at huge a disadvantage because they are nearer to their neighbors than they are to their minonly expo. 8,7, and 6 need a minoly expo in between them and need their choke to be seperated a bit farther. I think that will help out the map a little bit.

Just noticed the top right corner doesn't have it either between teal and orange. There is at least 1 minonly expo missing entirely, but I figure there should be 3 more minonly (added between blue and white, white and brown, and teal and orange) so everyone is on even footing to start.

Ive changes postion of bottom right base somany times, its doesnt work what your saying it makes it worse, If seperating bottom right base could be done correctly i wountve found a way.

AS for the money only, its alot harder then it looks to do, this map been tweaked like many times just to fit everything you see, I rearanged this so many times.

Ill see what I can do on this.

Then take one out. 5 Minonly (all closer to the top) isn't very fair to the lower players. It would make for an easier game for players starting at the top. I think either the top minonly patch needs to be taken out, or something needs to be added.

For those guys that like this map, It gets Big update, so here you go.

I spent 4 hours on this adjusting 3 bases to make it balance even more & space them correctly. So I could fit mineral only at center were I wanted them to be.
Its best I could do for Snake Pit's design.

Im really satisfied with it now, before I hated how I couldnt manage to have minerals the way I wanted because of limited space I was working with this design.

well the nats are positionally imbalanced.. u can change that. That will improve the map alot.

You guys are hypocrites when it comes to voting maps, people like this map but yet it doesnt get voted in because it has 8 players. This map fun map not serious compitition map. It works great. I spend like 12 hours on this already I dont wanna spend another 4 hours on this for nothin.
maybe im narrow-minded, but 8 players map cant be balanced in normal 1v1 gameplay.. there is so much double gas (main-nat) so zerg macro the hell out from the map

and motw is something that is for 1v1 and 2v2, because they are the most popular and in my opinion the most interesting gametypes

Ive updated the map, so tanks are little less threatening for brown and yellow.
I love this map. Actually I love most of your maps. I play them with my pals very much. It's good to have someone like you to make fun to play (team games) maps! keep 'em comin'!

his maps are nice 6 and 8 player maps, but they aren't balanced at all and are generally looked down on =/
stop to criticize other people maps so long they are much better than yours.spend more time on your own maps;try to rectify them,i'm sure you will find alot to do.

the perfection benchmarks than you require from some masterpieces,like this map or galaxy prime,you should apply on your own maps.and you wiil find out in what a league you really playing.

I played some FFAs on this recently at a LAN party, plays surprisingly well. Good job on this.
