Hey guys by now you all know me for always doing 2v2's. Well i do need help on four player maps as i have one major issue on why i dont do them, and i need your guys help to try and fix my 4 player map problem.
As you can see by yellow lines how the up and down has more space than the left to right, and by more space i mean a lot more space to where map wont work out. Can you guys please help me wtih this problem modified by Nightmarjoo
Yes this is the trick in making rotationally symmetrical (4)maps. There are a few ways of doing it.
One way, is to make the map 128x112 (112 is halfway between 128 and 96). This is the Testbug method.
Another way, is to adjust your SE/NW mains. Use pylons to test space because they have the same tile-height and width, and fill up space easily by being small. This often involves compromises in slight positional balance stuff. You can look at maps like Othello and Byzantium, and the many other recently made (4)rotationall symmetrical promaps.
Another way, is what Morrow used in (4)Dreadcore, where he positioned two of the mains away from the corners to compensate. Basically, he took Testbug's method, and wasted some space he couldn't account for, but in a really neat and controled manner.
Um mostly your main/nat space decisions are bad though from what I can see ._.
