LGI's maps page: 1 | ||
| I went through my disks and found I think all maps LGI ever uploaded here, though they probably aren't necessarily the most recent versions. Most are nice maps, visually and conceptually, some are maps I'd feel comfortable playing on, and others are just plain good. Anyone want me to upload them, or does LGI still not want his maps on here? Here are the maps I found: Tell me if there are other maps of his not listed there, and I'll see if I can find them too. | ||

| also makyo.this map has a pimped version too(by starparty),wich is really good.under lgi's maps gosu maps are osom and darinas feelings/fragment;because very original,good executed and unusual playing style. i like also kindzadza,azax syndrome,xenomorph and hocus peakus.herbal essence is a good 6 player map too. and even if i think these maps deserve anytime to be played and also they are good maps for the db,you have no right to upload these maps whitout lgi's permission.as creator,he is the only one who have the right to decide about their disposal. so far i remember he was the one who delete them with reason and not by accident,and because of this he is the only one who have the right to poste them here again,if he want so.thats not your business at all | ||

| Nightmarjoo I asked LGI in a PM whether he wanted me to upload his maps and he said essentially that err, how should I say this?, well that he would want you out of here before any of his maps were put back into this database. So I said that I would not upload them if he did not authorize me to but his maps are already in the public realm and he is no longer an admin here so you can make the case that we don't need his authorization to upload them. However, if you do upload please don't do it all at once. | ||

| lol Some are definitely good maps, that's why I'd want them uploaded, and others are MOTWs, and it's weird to be missing a motw lol. | ||

| i have them both;lgi's original map & starparty's pimped one.i keep them both 'cause starparty don't just pimped the map he changed alot on it.so the pimped one plays significantly different than the original map. if starparty wants he dont need to ask for lgi's permission to post the pimped one,i assume.'cause lgi gave him once the permission to work on that map and because the new one has not so much in common with lgi's original,i think it depends if starparty still wanna respect lgi as primal author or not.so ask starparty for the pimped version of makyo... nightmarjoo don't even think to upload these maps whitout lgi's permission.if lgi wants he can initiate legal measures against the owner of this site.are you nuts? damn,you so called admins have ever heard about copyrights???? modified by Grief_Stricken | ||

| lol grief, a mapper does not own his map. When you install Staredit one of the things you agree to is that blizzard owns your map, not you. | ||

| Technically Starcraft maps don't have copyrights as far as the authors are concerned. We do ask mappers out of courtesy whether we can pimp their maps and we aknowledge that we used some part of a map or a concept, but the maps are public. In theory we don't need anyone's permission just to include them in a database but of course, if this is done, the author of the map should be credited as such and he will. modified by Lancet | ||

| Regardless of what some licence agreement by Blizzard says, IMO it is common sense that (re)publishing someone's maps without his/her permission is wrong. So if LGI doesn't want his maps here we should respect that. | ||

| Well, plagiarizing a map or copying parts of it or pimping it without crediting the author is "wrong" but I don't think that merely uploading a public map into a database against the author's stated wishes is "wrong" especially if the maps were here to begin with and some of them were MOTW. Don't forget there are old newsposts referencing those now unexistent maps. It's great to upload a map here and receive comments and get to particpate in competitions and even have a big picture of your map in the top 3 in a newspost (if you make it). But you also acquire a certain responsability when you do that. I believe deleting such high profile maps violates that responsability and I told LGI he was making a mistake in not re-uploading them again. | ||

| have never seen LGI maps, and if he doesn't want his maps to be on the database, you should at least post the pics in here. so new mappers like me can feed from his talent | ||

| maybe you can do this privatly,also you can share with him that way some of lgi's maps.but uploading pictures is only wasted space and as someone which has responsabilities on this site you should avoid this. | ||
