here's a rough sketch of a map concept. Gameplay is supposed to be centered on controlling strategic positions that don't hold a direct value in the form of resources, but instead offer control over resource nodes.

If someone wants to base a map on it, go ahead. Modifications/tweaks are encouraged as this is not very refined.


Also a random idea I had today: We can prevent manner pylons and possibly other stuff by placing neutral lurker eggs near the mineral line. They shouldn't prevent cannons and such, though. Maybe someone has some other cool idea similar to this.

hallucinated eggs in the mineral lines would work, but the hallu disappear in like a minute or so.

Why not unbuildable terrain? I see no problem with it. Turrets can be placed to the side a bit without much problem.

Picture is slightly confusing.

Because unbuildable terrain isn't half as much fun :P
Was just a random idea, really. Btw you could use such eggs to make sure your reavers' scarabs actually explode instead of following a line of workers until they go down for 0 damage ;)

What exactly isn't clear from the picture?
