Abydos1 | | | My 2nd map uploaded here so any comments/constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated. I've only laid out the basic structure of the map, not much decoration has been done at all.
I decided to try a 192x64 map size this time; the mains are not on the edges so the rush distance isn't too long. The minerals on the Northern ramp out of the main are a stack of 5 mins with 1 min each so its mostly up to the player if they want to get out of their main as the other person would have to bring 5 workers to mine it out.
The temples on the bridge to the semi-island are a stack of 5.
The way the map is layed out along with the narrow height should make a lot of the fighting occur in the middle. The 3 paths should allow for ample flanking room still.
I tried to make the 3rd gas for zerg not too hard to obtain although the Top expo probably won't be easy to defend (although it is close if you mine out the ramp); they can take the island if they get early lurks or drop though.
Again, any advice on how to improve this would be greatly appreciated. | Freakling | | | The backdoor mineral block certainly causes pathing issues in its current position.
192x64 sized maps make the minimap practically useless. No other map format has a smaller ingame minimap. Better use a size that is at most 128 in all dimensions. 128x96 would be common for 2 player maps.
All those expos close to or behind the bases force a boring turtle-in-gameplay. | jamssi | | | Terran will rape enemy's main :/ |
