I don't understand why a map making site would have a gaming team.

My post got deleted due to the hacker, so I'll briefly write it down again...
I'd appreciate it if we announced a new channel on several community sites such as pgt, gg, bwcl, whatever. That way, hopefully some non-BWMN guys that like testing new maps will pop up as well.
I really don't see so much of a chance that we will be successfull, but it's worth a try, and a heavily fequented channel is the best way to test maps imo.

Actually i really like the idea, and it's worth to try!

seconded. just make a channel public, where willing people find others to play on BWMN maps. and the active people here can visit the channel as well. only problem i see is the gateway...europe and/or west would be wise

I wouldn't go to pgt for map testing, actually. It feels somewhat uncomfortable to me.
I'd suggest to make one channel name and use it on all the servers. Some will turn out being frequented more, some might vanish.
And actually not everyone can access pgt with no lag - some can't access it at all, especially after the latest patch. Linux(and mac?) users are in a bad position, too, from what I know.

well, but PGT would really have the advantage of being global, and, furthermore, being a central position where many meet anyway. so we could gather ALL players there.

To have a map testing channel is a great idea, I'm a mac user tho so I can't use pgt. I would definetely visit a map testing channel on an of the other gateways tho.

b.net x is best.. i can have entropy post about it at the newsportal.. we get lots of good feedback there about our maps and it seems like many test the maps that they like anyway. Any type of player testing the maps is great so i think doing this will create great stuff for us.
besides.. this would be a good way for ppl to try out our maps, and then enter the tournies to play them for extra points etc. we cant lose if we do it pgt.
pgt ftw gogogo

Well, we need to decide on a good name for the channel and then we can have that channel announced for ALL servers on pgtour.net. This actually is useful since there are many people who visit pgtout-net without playing on bnetx (including me). And the admins there surely have no problem with announcing such a channel on other servers, too ;)
Ha, I knew it! Mac users can't join bnetx that easily. Though it is simpler to do on mac than on linux, as far as I know.
Side note @ KorvspaD: You probably need to install bootcamp and thus Windows if you want to play PGT.

Well, if noone has a better idea, OP BWMN will be the choice #1 I guess ;)
And I guess that channel is still free on all servers :)
