Okay first let me make that clear: I`m not your programming monkey slave, I`m more like King Kong. So even if you think you have an awesome idea, if I don`t agree it won`t happen unless you program it yourself :D
Now I see that these "funny" forumposts are coming more frequently now, and some users would love to have an ever growing number next to their name, so a "member" function should be thought about. BUT it is absolutely needed that everyone can just post, without a big registration process. Starparty, LGI, Listoric etc would go through it, but it is less sure that entropy, mireille or Frozenarbiter would do it too, guys that post only from time to time or for special occasions here.
So I`d say the forum and mapcomments would have to be mixed, both registered users (with postcounter, avatar and whatnot possibly) and unregistered people just passing by should be allowed to post.
Let me add that I'm not sure I will make an "autologin" work, then you would have to login everytime you enter the site, let me see how many of your really want to do that :[
Whatever happend i am to the end with you guys! If some problems in maps, that make me cry while i am trying to fix them in the next 2-3 hours, and i still keep doing that, a login system, that have no autojoin every time won't be bad at all. For me at least is not a problems, i won't feel it anyway since i do that all the time in may sites.
or just make fix accounts for "chosen" ppl, so they can't be faked. would enough imo, a dumb bastard wouldn't have fun by faking a noname (haha, no, not the user^^)
this is what I said:
make a fix group for "members" with login (no avatars or shit, just the group), whose names can't be faked then.
guests will be able to post as it is now, but if someone tries to fake a person with influence, he cannot.
There should be a guest/admin/regular user option. That way people that come here sparingly can just be a guest, and regular users can ahve their own accnt.
Right now it is _only_ for reply to a forum post. Not for mapcomments and not for new threads. But please test if it works correctly here, then I can expand it to more areas.
