BWMN Showcase Tourney page: 1 2 3 4 | ||
| - - - TOURNEY WILL BE JULY 27th 6PM EST IN OP BWMN ON USEAST- - - SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS OVER So far the volenteer staff that will be there for the tourney to help are as follows: - CrystalDrag - Phobic - Freakling - Arctimes - Jungleterrain - K_A For the event please make an account with the tag MoD- Ex: MoD-Phobic Map pool is as follows: (4)Melting Pot -Phobic (2)Resonance II -Jungleterrain (4)Tommorow -LastCurse (3)Hazard Black -Freakling (2)Dark Apology -CrystalDrag (4)Losing Temperature -ArcTimes (2)Crash Course -K_A (2)Spider Monkey -sTY_leZerg-eX So I am trying to get together a showcase tournament that would take place once every 2-3 weeks. It would be comprised of a map pool that includes maps submitted by active mappers on bwmaps. This would be a good way to give the maps on this site the due publicity they deserve. I have thought this through and for it to happen we need several things. Oragnization - We need a bracket manager. He would stay in op bwmn throughout the tourney and keep track of wins/loss (ArcTimes?) - We need officials to observe games. Easiest way to resolve disputes. (Freakling, Phobic) - We would like a prize. Anyone with a prize idea or anyone feeling generous can help here. (!!!!!!) - We need publicity. The tourney must be cast in the right light. I can take care of that part.(Phobic) - We need map submissions. Someone has to keep track of what maps are in the map pool and deal with making official tourney versions. I can help with this. | Concerning brackets, if there were 16 participants, there would be 5 stages. So limit to 5 maps for 16, 6 maps for 32... Etc. Kespa tends to use 4 maps first, then use the first map for the final one. I cant help with observing, Cause i explained it. :P Cant help with prize either, im poor... cause i explained it. :P You got the publicity down. I can help with organizing the maps, which goes along with brackets.. :) And i can make offical tourney versions. | ||

| Add debugging selcted maps and short term bug fixing to the list of things that need to be done. I would volunteer for that. I would also observe in games. Map submissions?... Must I limit myself to just one :\ I guess (3)Hazard Black would be my choice right now... But maybe it would be better if every one would nominate maps not (exclusively) their own. | ||

| I have some questions The games would be played in US east? I can tell my friends about the tourney, but most of then can't connect to US east and any other blizz server x.x.. so, i want to know that. Are there going to be stream :B. | A lot of players (including me) like to play only with Lan Latency. If we are to play on USEast, would we have to require players to play with ChaosLauncher or something to provide the Lan Latency? This would be to keep things more professional. That would mean games would have to be played with "gamename#LL2". | ||
