Nightmarjoo	Um, apparently some asshole fucked with bwm. Some maps were deleted, many of the more recent articles were erased or modified beyond repair, and a newspost was made. Please provide any information here on: what was missing, what happened, etc. If anything you notice is gone, please tell us so that we can try and get it back up. I've emailed panschk, and anything you guys can come up with I can forward to him, or we can fix it ourselves if it's possible.

PsychoTemplar	What a loser. My article for getting a picture of a map is missing, but I'm sure Panschk has a backup of this site with all the articles, so that shouldn't be too bad... It's a shame about the maps though :( It's so stupid when hackers think they're the man because they can break into sites with little or no security measures... Honestly, good fucking job, you can ruin a community site who's only interest is servicing fans of StarCraft. What a waste of everyone's time, including their own.

Testbug	my map 3paranoid android is gone, my tsl tiebreack is gone. it says "LODA CHUJE" on it spells in map is now Spells on JEBANIE W DUPEand says "This DICKKK COCKK ASS" on it bwmn rules is now BWMN FUCKINGand says "THOUAAAAAAAA SEX IN ASS" get a picture of your map is now "Getting a Picture of your DICK"

panschk[FP]	I don't have backups, but my webspace provider should have. I can write an email to them to ask them to put that backup in here. Of course, that would delete all "real" posts made in the meantime, too. This is so infantile, lol.

panschk[FP]	So, this is an important question: Should I talk to my e-mail provider to install the backup, or should we try to re-build the stuff that was destroyed ourselves? I might get a better grasp of what happened after looking at the log file, but this is not created yet. Will have to wait 16 hours till the day is over here in germany ;) btw the site looks horrible in opera. gotta fix that too ;)

Grief_Stricken	take it easy!as i was new here,shit like this happens at that time.and it wasn't a big deal for panschk to restore nearly everything.in the past;and it was much worse than it is now.nearly 90% of the db was deleted.if i remember right panschk's provider makes back-ups evry 3 day;so he was able to restore everything except the maps & comments of the last 3 days - which isn't such a tragedy.all maps could be re-uploaded again and about the comments...well,everyone can comment any map he wants. about the causes i see 3 possibilities: 1) it was a really a hacker;and if this is right he can do it also in the future because the site isn't obviously protected well.that's why panschk has to caree alot more about secure meassures before the new site starts 2) it was a bored admin which doesn't have himself under control. in this case i would tell him - you are beyond remedy 3) someone hacked a admin comp. and now he have all his passwords and start to do weird stuff with them.beware you bank account pin etc.

Grief_Stricken	oops,you posted in the meantime. backup is the only choice,because we have no idea what else is deleted too.there are some articles and maps about we know,but maybe there are other things about we don't know yet.it's the best chance to restore a complete db;even if the last 3 days stuff is gone.but this stuff is easier to restore.

spinesheath	Well, what I noticed of that whole thing: I guess I was right there when it happened (again? wtf?). I saw that map called "therape" which had author NASTYMARINE and was just some obscene crap. I deleted it, but right when I was done with that, 2 more copies of that map were up. Deleted again, PMed Panschk, deleted another 2. Then I noticed 2 people in all-caps online. I PMed both of them that they should stop this shit and that they have to go through much more effort to upload new maps than what it takes me to delete a map. Guess that made them/him at least stop with the maps. Then I noticed that there were new/modified newsposts (btw, Nasty came on at that time, but went off soon after). I tried to at least clean them up, but one newspost wouldn't accept my changes. Nasty's new map was deleted right when I came online (noticed that because I was going to check it for new comments). He uploaded it again. Then those 2 guys went offline, one after another btw, so I figured I can go to sleep now as well. Nasty was off again as well. Well, guess that was about it. Guess NM came online slightly afterwards.

panschk[FP]	Right now I believe that they came via Nastymarine's account. Wouldn't it make sense? First he/they spam with NM's account, but then they realise that they can have their own admin-account and that would make it less obvious, so they make their own admin accounts. I will email my provider later today to install the backup. So DO NOT waste your time trying to re-up stuff in the following hours.

spinesheath	Well, I don't think that it would be less obvious, but the rest makes sense ;) Btw, can you check the IPs with which people logged in/registered? Maybe we can find out where from it was if it was through Nastys account. Maybe even compare with all IPs used by BWMN members. (at least in Blizzforums I can do that)

Starparty	actually it wasnt just a bored admin because i have lost admin rights on my account, and a normal admin cant change that. u need to access the code to change stuff like that afaik

panschk[FP]	my ad hoc solution: I changed all scripts so that an admin level of 2 wont be enough to mess with us with admin powers. I will give spinesheath, Nightmarjoo and myself higher ranks so that we can clean up if the spam starts again, and i will try to get a backup soon. If that person still gets admin power, there has to be a bigger problem I'm not aware of, and were screwed :/

NastyMarine	It is possible that I left a computer logged on when I left school. But no one in my classes knows about broodwarmaps.net. And i usually dont log in when I'm at school unless on my laptop which I keep on me always. This really sucks.
